After watching Beverly Hills 90210, I can safely say that the show is stereotypically American. During my stay in London for two and a hlaf weeks towards the end of August, many questions that people had about american high schools were all based upon shows like 90210 and movies like Clueless. The characters are substantially older (on average the actors are about 9 years older). The show I watched yeasterday was a re-run, towards the end of the

when you are 24, a lot of parents don't do that. The show succeeds because if you wanted to emulate one of them you have a wide range of people to choose from, Donna is caring, Steve is spoiled a lot of the time, Brandon is kind and considerate, Valerie is mean sometimes, etc. The characters are developed so well that you have a wide range to emulate from and I think people should and do.
