Hair Dye Vs. The Air Force
While searching for an ad or ads for this assignment, I came across two ads that seemed to contradict themselves. Although they are advertising two different things, one would think the ad agencies would try to stay on the same page. One ad shows a woman who is intelligent, strong-minded, and wants to succeed. The other ad paints a completely different picture that creates a more degrading, derogatory image.

The air force ad has a good-willed tone, whereas the hair color ad has a degrading tone. Though the hair color ad seems like it creates a bad image of women, they try to do it subtly. For the average consumer, they may not notice the tone. Nonetheless, those who are observant and look past the marketing ploys of the ad designers will notice the tactics companies use to persuade consumers to buy their products.
