Conflict in the current state of Ireland.

The long-term causes have played an important part to the conflict in the current state of Ireland. Ireland was once a prospering country many centuries ago when the Gaels were amongst the first settlers. The Gaels had imposed their language, customs and people to Ireland and made it the original way of life. This created religious, social, political and economic divides and extremist groups to be formed on either side to fight for their cause. There was also the distrust where neither religion would accept or have any trust and makes it difficult to resolve their differences. These aspects have joined together to make todays present issues very difficult to resolve as both parties feel very strongly about the past.
