Cube vs. The Matrix Directors have been making movies about a higher power that is controlling people as far back as I have studied. This idea is the main point in both Cube and The Matrix. The directors of these movies use both theatrical ideas, and different film techniques to relay this concept. Both of these movies use special effects to help develop the story. Cube used different traps and mechanisms to show just how devious the government can be. The Matrix used special effects more to dazzle the audience. The director of The Matrix could have gotten the same idea across using much less money and special effects.
