Even though the Bible states one should turn the other cheek, it also states punishment should be "An eye for an eye," and "A tooth for a tooth." Capital punishment has been around since the beginning of time, and it will probably be around until the end. and should be abolished. Just by ending this grotesque procedure will save taxpayer millions of dollars every year. Also until there is a way to be one hundred percent sure an innocent person won't be murdered, the death penalty isn't a sound solution for any crime. The death penalty has been around as a part of the criminal justice system since the beginning of time, but it shouldn't be around until the end of it.
