The subject of censorship on the Internet was one of heated debate not one year ago. The debate has since lost its steam but the issue itslef has not died out. There are several points upon which people on both sides of the debate argue over. control, of a mass media. The government likes control. They saw the Internet as a form of communication growing ever more out of their grasp. They saw what they saw as a weakness and jumped on it. Luckily, their scheme failed and once again, the Internet is free for all those who would use it. We must hope, however, that Congress never again will try to trample our rights as they did with the CDA.
