First Macbeth is famous for his skills in battle, he is noble because he is respected by his king and fellow men, and he is prosperous because of treasures that have been bestowed upon him. Next Macbeth is not entirely good nor is he entirely evil. Finally Macbeth makes a vital mistake or hamartia at some point in the play. These facts combined are what makes Macbeth a tragic hero.
