Technological, political economical influence on the music of the 20th century

After finishing Yale University he has realized that his ideas about music are not popular and won't provide support for his family. Therefore he has entered a business field and left music for his personal enhancement. This allowed his freedom of expression independently from public opinion. The phrase "come out to show them" was taken from the interview by a boy who was beat up by police. Therefore, this piece can represent Reich's political view of government tyranny and cruelty of police, because composer takes boys side and brings in economic aspect of the piece, - the purpose of this musical piece was to gather money and help the boy.
