The First and the Last
John Galsworthy was born in 1867 in Kingston Hill, Surrey, into an upper-middle-class family. John Galsworthy was educated at Harrow and studied law at New College Oxford. Though he was trained as a lawyer, he never practiced law. He began writing at the age of twenty-eight, inspired by his future wife. He married his cousin's wife, Ada Galsworthy in 1905 after a 10-year affair. Galsworthy's first novel, written in 1906 was,

of sending someone to his death for something he could have prevented. I liked the moral the book leaves, and the story is very easy to read. It isn't too long, so it doesn't bore you to death in the first ten minutes. I would recommend the book to anyone who likes to read and doesn't have much time to do it or isn't very good at reading since the language is easy to follow.
