In many ways the United Nations Declaration of Human Rights appears to be a statement of ideals written by naive and out of touch Samaritans, but on closer inspection it becomes obvious that they are more of a serious plea for peacefulness and liberation than a document of childish requests. Rights may be a wish list, and may never amount to being much more than a wish list, but it is effective, and as long as it is considered acceptable to abide by it, it will continue to be effective. It has thus far, created a safer and more equitable world for many people. Those who do not support it, do not support life, and that is a destruction of Human Rights in its self.
