With Hawthorne's roots being in Salem I can appreciate the story that much more. I enjoyed that Hawthorne wrote this story knowing his relatives were the people that found refuge in their outlandish and narrow-minded views. The representation of hell, being the woods is brilliant because Hawthorne took one-minuet belief of the Puritans and developed a story I could read time and time again.
