Euphausiid shrimp or krill are a fundamental part in supporting Antarctica's marine ecosystem as well as food webs around the world. Krill support all marine life either directly or indirectly in the marine food web. While scientist still have much to study about krill behavior and population dynamics many fisheries continue to harvest krill. Knowing that krill play such a vital role in Antarctica's ecosystem, we need to ensure that their population maintains healthy levels.
