Would I have A-bombed Japan?

During the peak of WWII, if I were in President Truman's position, I would have deployed the atomic bombs against Japan. Considering the moral and strategic-political perspectives, as well as a great deal of pressure from government officials, there was not much of a choice except to use an untested weapon that had powerful capabilities. The suicidal missions that the Japanese deployed pended a serious threat to American soil. The United States only option was to intimidate the Japanese to concede to our technological power and end WWII. Dropping Atomic bombs was a necessary action, and had I been President in 1945, I would have made the same decision as Harry Truman.
