Boliva
The 'Tibet of South America', Bolivia is the highest of all South America's countries. But its landlocked position and mountain ranges also make it a country to find a flavour of what much of South America must once have been like.
The region around La Paz is known as Little Bolivia where snowy mountains rise above 3,000-year-old pre-Inca ruins at Tihuanaco.
